Relational Therapy

Is your relationship at a fork in the road, or in a really tough place? Relationships - whether romantic or platonic - take work, and sometimes it can feel like the tools you have just are not working. This is where finding the right therapist can be really transformative. I love working with relationships. I offer relational therapy to romantic relationships, family members, and friendships. I believe all relationships can benefit from the power of therapy, and I love helping people grow in their understanding of themselves and each other.

The Process:

When working in relational therapy with me, we’ll start out with a free 30 minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. You and your partner(s) can bring your questions you have about what my approach is, and I can hear a bit about what you’re hoping to accomplish in therapy. If we all decide we wanna move forward, we’ll book our initial intake appointment and get the ball rolling! If for some reason any of us feel it isn’t a good match, I’ll always provide references for therapists I trust that may be a better fit!

The intake process for relationships is thorough. Our initial session we will all be together and we will discuss big picture topics of what brought you to therapy, the difficulties you’re facing, as well as how your relationship started and what brought you together. After our initial session all together, I like to do individual intakes with everyone participating - these sessions are 75 minutes long. During this individual session we will complete a full biopsychosocial assessment with an emphasis on relationships. This is a standard intake assessment for social workers, and it gives us a really good foundation to start with as we come up with a plan for how we’ll work together. This assessment is really just a conversation where I get curious about you and your life.

Once we are done with the initial intakes, we will come back together and discuss my process for working with relationships. I will take some time to provide some education on the tools I use (primarily IFIO), and answer any questions that you have about the process.

The Investment

Your initial intake session together will be 80 minutes and is $250. Individual intake sessions are 75 minutes long and $175. Sessions following the intake process are typically 80 minutes per session and $210 per session. Some partners may choose to do longer sessions, and some choose to do the intensive model - pricing for extended or intensive sessions is available by request.

I do not accept insurance and do not provide super bills. I am a non-pathologizing therapist, and I do not base treatment on diagnosis in all cases. Insurance requires a diagnosis code in order to bill. I am ethically opposed to these practices.
